It is no exaggeration to say that Maja Sten is well educated. First, she studied art history, then she attended three of Sweden’s most reputable art schools before finally graduating from the Royal College of art in London in 2002. Maja makes both graphic works and etched metal jewellery.
Maja Sten about her piece for Wonderwall: “The horse is a pencil drawing I made in art school. I’d recently taken a class in etching and had discovered that I had talent for this kind of thing. Later, I used the horse to illustrate ”That’s no way to say goodbye” by Leonard Cohen. I find the horse to be both sad and strong. Just like the song.”
