This work pays homage to Maria Sibylla Merian, an unsual and adventurous illustrator and explorer active during the 17th century. Merian travelled to Surinam in South America where she drew psychedelic illustrations of crocodiles, snakes and bugs.
Her work makes Josef Frank look like a copycat, it’s about time she gets a homage. “Homage” is made using both color pigments, acrylic color and collage technique.
