Danish artist Monika Petersen studied illustration at St Martins College of Art and Design UK. Following her graduation, she worked in London for several years before returning to Copenhagen where she is now based.
Her work has been featured in many magazines including Elle, cover and Rum. Her designs has also been used on products: wallpaper, cups and pillows.
Monikas style can be described as quirky and humourous. Her work varies from detailed pencil drawings, mono prints and large Lino cuts, to collaged animals in graphic shapes and bold colors.
The Gold Artichoke, is part of a series of large lino prints depicting various organic shapes in gold and silver. All the prints are made in the artists studio in Copenhagen, signed and numbered and printed in a limited edition of 200.
